The three-star Hotel The Weekend (formerly the Alla Lenz Hotel Pension) is tucked away in the back streets of Neubau, Vienna's nightlife district. If you value quiet and cleanliness over a central location (read: It's a ten-minute walk to the shops of Mariahilferstrasse and 30 to 40 minutes to Innere Stadt), Hotel The Weekend is not a bad choice.
Mid-sized rooms are tidily organized and feature mid-century modern style. Furnishings are wooden, for the most part, and the color scheme features pops of green and orange. You'll find flat-screen televisions, spic-and-span tile bathrooms with silver showerheads, and even wall murals in some rooms.
There are some nice perks if you're planning a summertime visit: the hotel has A/C, a rarity in these parts. There's also a sun deck, a bar, a snack bar, and a chic breakfast room.

2.2km to city centerNeubau is Vienna's nightlife epicenter, a recently gentrified area that still retains a lot of grit despite its nightly metamorphosis into party central. Located north of Mariahilf, the shopping options may seem paltry in comparison, though the dearth of shopping opportunities are mitigated by the expansive, recently birthed Museumsquartier. Home to 60,000 square feet of art and culture, the Museumsquartier includes the museums of modern art and architecture.
And there are certainly opportunities to consume here. Neubau is one of the best places in the city to shop for antiques.
