Bellevueplatz is one of Zurich’s great central squares, beloved as a meeting spot (especially given its convenient tram connections). The square sits just south of the Rathaus in the Altstadt, near the banks of the Limmat River.

A whopping seven tram lines converge at Bellevueplatz (station stop "Bellevue Umsteigern").

During the summer months, the square comes to life with a circus and amusement park. During the springtime “Burning Snowman Festival,” the snowman is traditionally “burned” (or made to explode with fireworks) here in the square... always popular with the crowds.

From the platz, it’s easy to reach the Opera House on foot in less than five minutes.
