Situated on top of Capitoline Hill, one of Rome’s seven hills, the Capitoline Museum offers a world-class collection of Medieval and Renaissance art.
The structure itself was the vision of Michelangelo Buonarotti and encompasses three palazzi. A well-known sculpture of Emperor Marcus Aurelius greets visitors on their way to the museum’s rich offerings, which also include coins, jewelry and an array of sculptures.
