Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, literally meaning "concert hall," is located at the southern end of the city’s Museum Quarter (Museumplein). Home to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, nearly 1,000 concerts take place here each year.
At the time of its construction in the late 19th century, little was known about mastering concert hall acoustics. Yet architect A.L. van Gendt designed a space with near pitch-perfect acoustics and today the space is considered one of best in the world.
