What You Can Expect to Pay in Stockholm
No matter how you slice it, Stockholm is pricey. There's little escape from its exorbitance, although café meals, hostels, and a few of our budget hotel gems provide an antidote to kronor madness.

Hotels in Stockholm are not cheap. Moderately priced hotel doubles range from SEK 600 to SEK 2300. Hostels and boat hotels feature doubles with shared bathrooms for under SEK 500, although this is rare. Our cut-off is SEK 2250 a night but we found plenty of gems below that price.
Quick lunches can be found at cafés in central Stockholm for SEK 60 to SEK 100. An inexpensive dinner can be had for as little as SEK 150. Bakeries, supermarkets, and pizza joints are great Stockholm budget meal options. All offer delights that won't break the bank.
Stockholm is well equipped with banks and cash machines, and you should have no trouble obtaining cash from ATMs in Sweden. Note, however, that many Swedish banks' ATMs will not read bankcard passwords that exceed six digits. If your password consists of more than six digits, you may want to shorten it prior to your arrival.
