Cheap hotels near Gare d'Austerlitz in Paris, France
Opened in 1840, the Gare d’Austerlitz is one of six main rail terminals in Paris. It’s located on the Left Bank in the 13th arrondissement, but still quite close to both the Latin Quarter (on the Left Bank) and the Marais (on the Right).
The station was originally called the “Gare d’Orléans,” but was later renamed to further celebrate Napoleon I’s victory at the Battle of Austerlitz (1805).
From here, it’s a 15-minute walk across the Seine to Gare de Lyon, another major train terminal with plenty of transportation connections. It’s about a half-hour’s walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Hotels near Gare d’Austerlitz: Unlike many other European train stations (for example, Paris’ Gare du Nord), the streets surrounding the Gare d’Austerlitz are not lined with budget hotel options. You’ll have to walk or take a quick ride on the Metro to get to the hotels listed below, which are situated in either the Latin Quarter or across the Seine in the Marais.
