There are plenty of options to get you between the airport and central Dublin. There's the public bus, the Airlink bus and the Aircoach bus. Choices, people. We'll sort through your options here, and we'll also overview information for visitors arriving by train.
Getting Into Dublin
From the Airport
There are several ways to get into Dublin from the big international airport, which is located 10km (6.5 miles) north of the city.
The public bus is the cheapest travel option from the airport. Routes 16A, 41 and 102 between the airport and the city. The journey takes between 45 minutes and an hour, and bus fares cost between €1.60 and €2.50, depending on where you are dropped off.
The Dublin Airlink (Route 747) connects the airport to a variety of popular locations, as well as many hotels and guesthouses througout the city. The journey to city center takes about 30 minutes (depending on your destination) and fares are €6 for adults and €3 for children. The Aircoach runs frequent routes between Ballsbridge and the airport, stopping at a few locations in city center, including O'Connell Street and Westmoreland Street. The journey takes about 30 minutes. A single adult ticket costs €7 and a round-trip ticket costs €12. Children between the ages of five and 12 pay a flat fare of €1.50. Arriving by Train
Connolly Station and Heuston Station are the two main train stations in Dublin. Both stations are well serviced by public transportation.
