Hotel Jedermann

All things cutesy and cozy are nowhere in sight at the Hotel Jedermann. Instead, the hotel provides a refreshing break from Salzburg’s overpowering Gemütlichkeit (a traditional Austrian sense of hospitality) while offering interesting rooms at reasonable rates.

A former kindergarten, Jedermann keeps the décor fresh with some bright colors, contemporary Viennese photography, and scenes from operetta Der Jedermann hanging above the breakfast buffet.

The rooms themselves are very geometric and modern, with boxy furniture and faux wood headboards. A few have a kiln fireplace, minibar or balcony.

The bathroom layouts, though interesting, are not always conducive to privacy. Some showers have frosted panes that face directly into the room!

Breakfast is included. Note that if you'll be arriving after 8 p.m., you'll need to notify the hotel in advance, and staff will leave your keys in a code-locked box outside the hotel.
