Frankfurt neighborhoods
Bahnhofsviertel
This neighborhood situated to the southwest of the city center is home to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, the main train station, where there is a branch of the tourist office. The Jewish Museum is found here, as well as the city’s only English-language theater. From Bahnhofsviertel, it is a short walk to other tourist sights in the city center.

Many of Frankfurt’s main tourist attractions are located in this neighborhood, including the Römer (city hall), the cathedral, and the Museum für Moderne Kunst (Museum of Modern Art). You’ll also find the main tourist office at Römerberg. From this neighborhood, it’s an easy walk to the main train station.

Situated to the north of the city center, this neighborhood boasts many upscale restaurants and wine bars, and is a favorite for celebrities.
It’s also home to several green spaces, such as Günthersburgpark Park, the Chinese Garden in Bethmann Park and the park around the Holzhausenschlösschen castle. It’s easy to walk from here to the city center.
Ostend
The main attraction in this neighborhood to the east of the city center is the Frankfurt zoo. The area is also home to many of the city’s theaters and music venues, as well as Ostbahnhof (east train station). From here, it’s not far to walk to the city center.

This neighborhood located to the south of the Main River and the city center is home to Frankfurt’s “museum mile,” including the Städel Museum, the German Film Museum, and the German Architecture Museum. You’ll also find the Südbahnhof (south train station). It’s a short walk across the river to the city center from here.

Located to the west of the city center, this is Frankfurt’s financial district. It’s also home to the Botanical Gardens and Rothschild Park. From here, you can easily walk to Hauptbahnhof (main train station) and the city center.
