Inn-Side Hotel Kalvin Haz

Featuring beautiful furniture, an elegant breakfast lounge and spacious rooms, the three-star Inn-Side Hotel Kálvin Ház is a great pick for grown-up guests on a budget. And the central location is fab as well.

After seeing dozens (okay, hundreds) of rooms featuring budget furnishings, a few antique pieces are a refreshing sight. The décor of Kálvin Ház 38 rooms goes a step further. Its antique beds, dressers and chairs actually match. And all have a telephone, satellite television and free Wi-Fi.

Nine rooms on the top floor have gabled ceilings with sky lights, and, unlike the rooms on lower floors, feature modern furniture. The pristine state of all the furnishings doesn't suggest a stag clientele, and it made perfect sense to us when management stressed that party-hungry guests would be happier elsewhere.

A brandy bar is next door and the hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from the Great Market Hall, the Danube, and the café-lined Ráday utca.

Breakfast is included. Note that although all rooms have ceiling fans, not all of them have air conditioning. Likewise, the windows open, but it can get noisy outside, so light sleepers should request rooms that don’t face the street.
