Set on the banks of azure Lake Geneva, stately Geneva is quintessential Switzerland: sleek, efficient and diplomatic. Quite fitting for the city where the great art of Swiss watchmaking originated. And, like its luxury watches and the jewels sold in its high-end shops, Geneva sparkles, from its tranquil gardens and lakeside promenades to the gushing plume of the famed Jet d’Eau.
Welcome to Geneva

Given its long history as a place of refuge (Voltaire, Lord Byron and Jean Calvin are only a few of the notables who’ve sought shelter here), it’s no surprise that Geneva is exceedingly peaceful. The cobblestone streets of quaint Old Town pay tribute to Roman origins and the start of the Protestant Reformation. And along the slick right bank, home to the UN and the International Red Cross, there’s a more polished, international vibe. Even industrial Paquis, gritty by Swiss standards, still functions a chic hub of hip ethnic eateries and nightlife (of all sorts).
