Nightingale Mini Hotel

Centrally located at Blaha Lujza square in Pest, the Nightingale Mini Hotel provides a relaxed, homey vibe more reminiscent of an ashram than a hostel. This is not a party place, folks, but an oasis of peaceful tranquility.

Inspired details befitting a five-star yoga retreat are found throughout the nine guest rooms. Red lamps illuminate chakra maps hanging on orange walls. Candles burn from inside stained glass holders. Light reflects off oddly-shaped and intricately designed mirrors. Plant life adds still more color. This being a hostel, in-room amentities are on the basic side, but all rooms do have private private bathrooms.

The hotel is housed in a 19th-century building on a narrow street. The rooms are spread across two apartments on the first and third floors, so note that groups wanting to remain together should request rooms on the same floor when booking.

The main reception area is on the first floor, as is a guest kitchen, equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, a gas stove, and a microwave. There is a smaller kitchen and sitting room in the apartment on the third floor. There is also a TV lounge, complete with DVD library, board games and free Wi-Fi.

The Nightingale's staff is made up of part-time yoga teachers and interior design fanatics. Breakfast is available for an additional fee.
