The three-star Nice Garden Hotel, located just 200 meters from the beach, offers nine quaint rooms and a bed and breakfast feel. It makes up for its ho-hum exterior with comfortable rooms and a charming orange garden (onto which some rooms open). Location, in the city's bustling commercial district, is prime as well.

In the reception area, paper cranes hang from the ceiling and a mix of both French impressionist and Japanese artwork lightens the walls.

Rooms are decorated "à la Provencale," with warm colors, big plush pillows and attractive linens. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, phone, flat-screen television and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms sport colored tiles and come equipped with toiletries and a hair dryer. For a special Mediterranean treat, make sure to request a room that opens up to the peaceful orange tree garden. 

Breakfast is available for an additional fee.

Following the beachfront, the picture-perfect Boulevard des Anglais is ideal for afternoon strolls and "special moment" splurges. Most of the hotels in this neighborhood are located north of the Boulevard, in the direction of the train station though all within easy walking distance of the beach.
