Cheap hotels near Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona, Spain
The Plaça de Sant Jaume is the Gothic Quarter's central square; a meeting place for locals, and a gathering place for events and demonstrations. During the city's Roman past its forum and market was located here (and ruins have been found under the main square).
Today the square is focused on administrative activities. The city's town hall (the Ajuntament) is located to the south of the square, while the Palau de la Generalitat (seat of the Catalan government) sits to the north.
