Cheap hotels near Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy
One of the most famous fountains in the world, the Trevi Fountain is a baroque masterpiece that stands 85 feet tall and 65 feet wide. It’s marked by impressive stonework and gorgeous sculptures. At the center sits Neptune, god of the sea.
The fountain was constructed by Nicola Salvi and completed in 1762. It’s made many cameo appearances in classic films like Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita” and the Audrey Hepburn classic, “Roman Holiday.”
For a special treat, visit the fountain at night when it’s all lit up. Don’t forget to toss in a coin and make a wish. Legend has it that this ensures your return to the Eternal City.
