Cheap hotels near Ca' d'Oro in Venice, Italy
The Ca’ d’Oro (“Golden House”) is a 15th-century palace located along Venice’s Grand Canal. Today much of its gold has worn off, but the palace itself is still elegant, its exterior a mix of both medieval and mosque-inspired architecture.
The Ca’ d’Oro is open daily to the public as a gallery, with works collected by the palace’s last owner, Baron Giorgio Franchetti. Step inside to beautifully-restored Venetian Gothic apartments and view the collection of paintings (from both the Venetian and Flemish schools), plus ceramics, bronze sculptures and Renaissance statues.
For more information on visiting the gallery, visit the gallery’s Web site.
