EastSeven Berlin Hostel

The EastSeven Berlin Hostel is a hip spot offering 60 beds and a relaxed, friendly vibe. Nestled in a restored townhouse on the Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg border, the hostel boasts a laid-back staff, regular group dinners and cozy public spaces like an outdoor patio. Add coupons, free city tours, and the staff's insider tips, and you’ll feel like a Berliner by the end of your stay.

The EastSeven Berlin Hostel offers four- to 10-bed dorms as well as private rooms (ranging from singles to triples). All rooms are simple and cheery, with wooden beds, utilitarian bedside tables, large closets and vintage-inspired chairs. Round mirrors, the occasional wall mural and small throw rugs keep things funky, and the attic rooms with sloped walls are particularly attractive.

Each room is equipped with lockers, plus a fan, hair dryer and free Wi-Fi. Bed linens are included.

Bathrooms at the EastSeven are shared and immaculate, although they may be limited in number (as often happens in hostels). Note that towels must be rented for an additional charge.

From the groovy wallpaper in the hallways to the bold murals in the rooms and lounge, the EastSeven Hostel is high on aesthetic appeal. It’s also a friendly spot, with a chill vibe and plenty of areas for guests to kick back and socialize. Lined with sleek leather couches, the lounge is both high tech and cozy, and the perfect place to dig into one of the books from the hostel’s mini-library in the hall.

The communal kitchen, with its chef-size stove and big counter-top table, is our favorite room in the house and come summer the action moves to the outdoor patio, replete with garden and barbecue area. The hostel also offers a variety of “extras,” from inexpensive laundry services to bike rentals. Breakfast is available for an additional fee.
